Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival
As the largest environmental film festival on the West Coast of the United States, the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival includes environmental and adventure features, narratives, documentaries, animation and shorts for possible screening in the festival.
The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is a festival for activists by activists. The event is organized and hosted by the South Yuba River Citizens League. For over 20 years this grassroots environmental organization has been bringing the community together around the protection of the Yuba Watershed.
The Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival supports the critical work of California's most effective watershed protection organization, the South Yuba River Citizens League. SYRCL has a 23-year history of protecting the Yuba Watershed from dams, inspiring the community to become and stay involved in river issues and restoring our watershed to support healthy, wild salmon populations.
The Wild and Scenic team wants to share the powerful messages of these films with a larger audience. Whether it is the struggle for environmental justice, an adventure through the highest peaks, or an educational tale about an endangered species, the films expose people to forward-thinking ideas and global awareness. They want to share the magic of the Wild and Scenic Film Festival with communities and inspire the sense of activism the festival promotes.
