Fantastic Four, a Mama's Input
I have to admit here that my son worked on the post production of "The Fantastic Four", so of course, I'm a bit biased. But I'm always a bit cynical about make believe, as well. Do we really need make believe heroes to save our way of life when real, everyday heroes would do quite nicely?
With that said, I must admit I will go see Fantastic Four with my fun loving husband and son, and will probably enjoy its thrills and chills. I understand that Stan Lee, the creator of the comic book characters will be featured in the features offered in the four-DVD set, and that I'm looking forward to exploring. Creative people can be so.... so... anti-heroic. And that makes their work all the more engaging. Marvel comics is a case study of American storytelling and it's impact on the younger generations...need I say more?
So let me know what you think of this nostalgic peek into our warped childhoods ;-) I'll follow up with my own reel review once I've braved the crowds and enjoyed the sensory overload and merchandising feeding frenzy!
