(b) help distributors identify quality programming that is most suitable for their target audiences,

(c) help educators employ media-based teaching tools; and

(d) help donors find ways to achieve their mission goals through media and educational programming.

Environmental Media Fund works to create new collaborative and leveraged funding and project models.

The type of support and assistance offered by EMF is not generally available anywhere else. Its assistance stimulates the production, distribution and funding of educational programming, and public debate, on important environmental issues.

Since its inception the environmental movement has concentrated on the problems that confront us all and worked to stop the most egregious forms of global degradation. Over the years that dialog has broadened from local issues to global concerns and moved from identifying general problems to suggesting specific solutions. Due to these efforts and new legislation, business and industry have slowly found themselves changing their perception of environmental issues from something that they must begrudgingly deal with to something that they must incorporate into every aspect of their activities in order to retain a competitive advantage.

It's our belief that the environmental movement has reached an opportune inflection point for broad-based change - what some call a "tipping point". But in order to succeed environmental solutions will require a concerted effort on the part of government backed by the resolve of an informed electorate, and media is the most effective way to stimulate public debate.
